All shop integration methods explained

How to integrate your Stager shop with your website?

Updated this week

There are several methods to integrate a Stager shop with your own website. The different types or integrations have different requirements on the website they are integrated with and the technical know-how of the person setting up the integration. This article provides a high level overview of all methods, so you can make an informed decision.

"Link-based" integration

The most easy method is to simply put links on your website to the shop on the your-venue.stager.co subdomain. This we call the "link-based" integration method. While it may not be the integration you have in mind, it may still be worth while to learn about it: even if only to know that the option exists.

Integrations inside your own website

We also provide integration methods that allow the Stager shop to be accessed inside your website. This way users do not leave your website for shopping tickets!

NOTE

Our new methods for integrating a Stager shop inside your own website —called "widget" integrations— pair with the new Stager shop. The "iframe" integrations are the old way of integrating a shop inside your own website, which pair with the legacy shop.
For now the new shop and the legacy shop run side-by-side, but the legacy shop will be phased out. Therefor starting a new "iframe" integration is not advisable. The documentation for "iframe" integrations is kept online for those who already have a Stager shop integration based on this method. The articles for that are Basic "iframe" integration guide and Advanced "iframe" integration guide.
This article only describes the future-proof "link" and "widget" integrations.

Besides an improved user experience, these integrations —called "widget" integrations— also allow for better coupling with online marketing tools.

So beside the "link-based" integration between your website and the Stager shop that runs on the venue-name.stager.co subdomain, Stager also provides the following "widget" integration options:

Basic "widget" integration: full-screen

Using this integration the Stager shop looks exactly like it does on the venue-name.stager.co subdomain, but is accessed from your own domain (e.g. venue.com in the image below, but this could also be tickets.venue.com for example). Using this method ticket buyers stay on your domain for the whole ticket buying process which:

  1. makes measuring online marketing data more accurate, and

  2. may be better at communicating you brand.

Example:

Basic "widget" integration: embedded

When using this integration the Stager shop only takes up a certain rectangular space on your website. Outside of this rectangle your own website's content (like headings, menus and footers) is still visible. Within the rectangle the Stager shop looks like it does on a mobile device.

You can configure this widget so it shows the list of all events, or just a particular event.

This integration method comes with the same advantages as the Basic full-screen integration, it just looks different.

Example:

The advanced "widget" integration

This integration method is currently in public beta. Make sure to follow our newsletter for updates regarding this feature.

This integration method is only useful when you have one page per event on your website. Most organizers using Stager make use of our feed to automatically fill these pages based on the event information in Stager.

The advanced integration uses of a combination of different widgets and API endpoints to achieve a seamless shopping experience inside your website.

As the name implies, this is the most advanced of all our widget integrations.

Guides for the "widget" integrations

Both the Basic and the Advanced "widget" integrations have technical implementation guides. Find them with the following buttons:
