Send emails via Stager from your own email address.

Updated over a year ago

In Stager you would prefer to send emails using your, or your company’s email address. This makes it clear to your recipients that the message comes from you. But even if you enter your own email address, Stager remains the party that sends the email. Not all email providers (Outlook, Gmail, etc.) like this and may be a reason why email providers send emails to SPAM. By verifying your domain, you let the email provider know that you allow Stager to send emails on your behalf. This greatly reduces the chance that an email provider blocks an email.

Which emails are sent with your own email address?

You can indicate in the following places in Stager that you want to send the emails using your email address:

  • Ticket download email, set per ticket shop via Settings - Ticketing - Ticket shop.

  • Mailings via Marketing - Mailings.

  • Personnel emails via Settings - Planning - Personnel.

If a domain has not yet been verified, a notification will be displayed. You can still email, but the chance that emails end up in SPAM is greater.

How does it work?

First, add your own domain to the Stager backstage. We then generate DNS records that you enter in the DNS settings of your email provider. Don't know what this means? Ask your system administrator to do this, they will certainly know what to do.

  • Go to Settings - Marketing - Email domains.

  • Click + New email domain.

  • Enter the domain from which you want to send emails. Please note that you do not enter an email address here, that will not work.

  • Add the data generated by Stager to the DNS settings of your mail provider. Add all three. It can be important to add a dot after the value in your DNS settings, look that up at your DNS provider. At the bottom of this article you will find information about setting your DNS settings with the most used web hosts.

  • Verifying can take up to half an hour. Is the Status still Pending after half an hour? Click the 'Check status' button to retrieve the status again.

  • In the table you will find which DNS record is 'valid'. A domain is only 'Authenticated' when the status of all three DNS records is 'valid'.

  • When the domain has the status 'Authenticated', everything is set up correctly.

  • You can now email from your own address without any stress.

  • Do you have multiple email domains that you want to email using Stager? Repeat the steps above, it is possible to add multiple domains.

It is not possible to add email domains like Gmail or Yahoo, only domains that you manage yourself.

Add DNS records

Adding a DNS record differs for each domain host, which is why it is difficult for Stager to show you how to do this step by step. We advise you to add DNS records with your system administrator, who knows exactly how this works. Below are help articles from a number of popular web hosts that can help you on your way:
