What are Event Types?
Event Types are used to classify your productions and internal activities, such as rentals, build-ups, or run-throughs. They help you organize your schedule visually by assigning specific colors to different types of activities. Since Event Types are only visible to backstage users, they serve as a powerful tool for internal communication and planning.
Go to Settings - Events - Event Types to create and manage your classifications.
Internal use: Event Types are designed for your team and do not appear on the shop or tickets.
Colors: You can assign a specific color to each type via a dropdown menu. This color is then reflected in the weekly and monthly planners.
Main tab: You select the Event type for each event in the Main tab. While they often match your Project type, you can keep them different to distinguish events on a more specific level.
How can you filter on Event Types?
You can customize your calendar view by using the filter options to focus on specific types of activities. This is especially useful for high-traffic venues that manage multiple production phases at once.
To filter your view, click the Filter button at the top right of the various planners. Here, you can select or deselect which 'Event types' you want to see. This allows you to quickly toggle between a full overview and a specific view of, for example, only "Public Events" or "Internal Build-ups."
What are Project Types?
Project Types allow you to categorize your events for internal administration and financial tracking. Unlike other classifications, each Project Type is linked to a specific code that corresponds with your accounting system. This ensures that when you generate financial overviews, all data is correctly grouped and ready for your administration.
You can create and manage these categories by navigating to Settings - Events - Project Types. Here, you define the name and the accounting code that will later appear in your reports. This categorization is strictly for backstage users and is never shown to visitors in the shop or on their tickets.
To apply a category to a specific production, simply select the desired 'Project type' in the Main tab of an event. By doing this, you ensure that the event is correctly tracked in the accounting reports found under Reports - Accounting, making it easier to analyze the financial performance of different types of projects.
