You have created an event, but now you want to move it to another day or space in your venue. There are 2 main ways you can achieve this: manually, through the move event function in the Main tab of the event; or through our drag and drop function.
Important to note that you can only move event time manually with the move event function, but with the drag and drop function, you can move your event either to a different time, date or space.
1. Move event manually
Go to the Main tab of the event. Here you click on the 'Actions' button at the top right and choose your Move event.
Now select the new date.
If you want to move the event a few hours, either forward or back, you can do this using Move times, which adjusts the old times.
All dates and times, from production start to scan times, will be included by default. You can choose whether you also want to start the ticket sale, publish date and personnel shifts. These are selected by default.
Then press Move at the bottom, and you're done!
2. Drag and drop
To facilitate an easier and more intuitive way to move events, we have created a drag and drop function. This allows you to move any event or calendar note to a new time or space.
Drag and drop is accessibly for every Stager backstage user that has the Manage Event Main Info permission. Users without this permission will be shown the regular event calendar without this function.
You can drag and drop any event or calendar note, and this is possible in the day, week or month view of the Stager calendar. When hovering over an event with your cursor, a drag icon appears in the top-right corner of the event, indicating that the event is draggable. The entire right side of the event or calendar note can be grabbed.
Drag and drop - date/time
To change the date/time of an event, click and hold on the event block (or calendar note) from its original time in the calendar, and drag it into its new date/time. This will change all times within the event accordingly by the amount of days/hours/minutes moved, including:
Production start
Doors open
Program start
Program end
Production end
In the case that there a sales start date, scheduled publication date, or at least one personnel shift planned, moving the event will lead to a pop-up, prompting to indicate if you want these times to change, or remain the same.
In the calendar day view, you can change the time of the event, but not the date. In the week view, you can change both the time and date of the event. In the month view, you can change the date of the event, but not the time.
There is an exception for when you cannot use the drag and drop function, and that is when events or calendar notes span multiple days in the day and week view. In this case, these events can only be dragged by clicking on the start of the event. For example:
In the day view, an event that starts on 1 May and ends on 3 May can only be dragged from the 1st of May. The other two days will have drag and drop disabled.
In the week view, an event that starts on a Saturday and ends on a Wednesday the following week will only be draggable from the week containing the start of the event. The week after that - in this case, containing the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday - will have drag and drop disabled.
Drag and drop - space
In a day view, you can use the drag and drop function to change the space of an event or calendar note. Same as described above, simply click and hold on the event, drag it to the left or right into a different space, and drop it in the right place. Dragging an event in the week or month calendar view will never change the space.
