You can forward opt-in registrations from Stager to MailChimp. This opt-in is only visible when new contacts register. Changes or unsubscriptions are not synchronized.
To connect Stager with MailChimp you need your ‘MailChimp API key’ and ‘MailChimp list ID’. You get it by logging in to MailChimp with your MailChimp account and clicking on ‘Audience’ at the top. Choose ‘Manage Audience - Settings’ from the list you want to use. Then click on ‘Audience name and defaults’. Here you see the list ID code on the right hand side. Copy and paste this code into the Stager field 'MailChimp list ID'.
Stager only communicates email, first name, and last name with MailChimp. If you create (or have created) extra fields in your MailChimp list, and these are marked as REQUIRED, this can cause errors with Stager. We therefore advise against setting them to ‘required’.
You can find the API code in your account details. Click on your (company) name at the top right of MailChimp and then on "Account". On the account page, click on "Extras" and "API keys". Here you can create a new one or use an existing one. Copy and paste this code into the Stager field 'MailChimp API key'.
Where do I paste the codes?
Go to Settings - Integrations - MailChimp. Paste the ‘list ID’ and ‘API key’ in the correct place.
We insert the first name and last name in MailChimp into the default fields named FNAME and LNAME that MailChimp creates. If you have changed the names of these fields, Stager won’t know how the name should be entered in MailChimp. Please enter customized field names from MailChimp into Stager, so that Stager knows how to present the complete name. In MailChimp you will find these field names in your ‘List’, under ‘Settings’.
Ticket buyers who register via the Stager ticket shop will now see the opt-in. When they check this box, they are automatically added to your MailChimp newsletter.
Would you rather manage your own mailings? Use the Stager mailing and create your own opt-ins.
Contacts have one chance to subscribe to a MailChimp newsletter, namely when registering in the ticket shop. The opt-in cannot be seen when someone buys a ticket. Unsubscribing is done via the MailChimp mailings and Stager does not keep track of who subscribes or unsubscribes.
