You can use Stager to send emails to individual contacts, but also to large groups of contacts in bulk. You use it for update and service emails, but also newsletters and other marketing emails.
Select a target group
You start by selecting contacts. Under Marketing - Contacts - Audiences find your target group. These can be all opt-in newsletter subscriptions or for everyone who has tickets for an upcoming show. Select the list of contacts and choose to email them via Stager.
Formatting a mail
After you have selected the contacts, choose whether you want to use a mail template. Choose 'From scratch' to build your own email without a template. Format the email to your own taste with:
Customized colours, logos and design

Sales tracking
If you are satisfied with your email, save it as a draft. This way you (or a colleague) can read and send it later. If you have created a service email that you will use more often, save the email as a template. The next time you format an email, you can choose this email template.
For more information on formatting your mailings, read our in-depth article here.
Sending
First send a test email to yourself. Please note, if you use placeholders (such as {{first_name}}) then they will also be displayed without a name entered in the test email. In the actual mail, a name is entered in the placeholder.
Is the mail ready? Send the mail immediately or choose Schedule mailing to send the mail at a later time. After sending, you will see the statistics in the mail overview.
How to view your mailing status and results
Your marketing mail has gone out and you want to know what the effect of your work is. Or maybe you want to see which drafts and planned mails are scheduled? You can check all of that at Marketing - Mailings.
Mailings shows the following information:
In progress: mailings that are currently being sent.
Scheduled: an overview of scheduled mailings.
Drafts: which saved drafts are ready?
Sent: which mailings have been sent?
You can see various statistics for each sent mailing:
Recipients: the number of recipients of the mail.
Open rate: the percentage of recipients who opened the email.
Unsubscribe: the number of recipients who have unsubscribed from an opt-in following this email.
If you want to know how many people bought a ticket thanks to a mailing, read our article about sales tracking.
With the 'Actions' button you can view an email, copy it and see the recipients. You can also get an overview of the people who have not yet opened the email, so that you can email them directly again, if you wish.
In a contact’s record you can see in the mailings tab which mailing they have received.
Bounced email addresses
You may have email addresses in your contact list that you can no longer reach. This leads to your emails not being delivered, because they cannot be received by your contact for some reason. The email address may no longer exist, may be misspelled, or the recipient's mailbox might be full. These are called bounced emails. It's pointless to keep these email addresses in your contact list. Once an address ends up on your bounce list, we filter it out before sending each mailing — so we recommend cleaning up your list.
You can find all invalid mail addresses on the Contacts dashboard via Marketing - Contacts. If you select a contact from this list, you will find the reason the mailings do not arrive under Contact information.
You can now replace this mail address, or delete the contact via Delete contact at the bottom of the page.
