Account balance for checking the balance on your suspense account
Account balance for checking the balance on your suspense account

Check the balance on your suspense account with what is on the Adyen account via Balance.

Updated over a week ago

Imagine that during a month, you have paid yourself a couple of times. You cannot pay out all earnings because we hold the amount paid with credit cards for future events: this amount can be found in the Chargeback reserve. With this amount any chargebacks by ticket buyers can be covered.

The amounts paid will be credited to your bank account and you will transfer these receipts to the account 'In advance received entrance fees online'. This way you register the total income that you can distribute, and the amounts actually paid out.

The balance that remains open on the suspense account is almost equal to the balance that is in your Adyen account. You can view this final balance for the month in Accounting - Balance.

Why does the balance almost match and why is there sometimes a difference?

In addition to costs for taking care of ticket sales and refunds, Stager also deducts costs for each payout. These costs are not related to an event and are therefore not included in the Accounting by date report. Debit the payment costs of that month from the suspense account in an entry line.

Also, it is possible that payments for tickets have already been approved by, for example, the credit card company, but that the money has not yet actually arrived on your Adyen account. This can take a while with some payment methods. In that case, the Financials - Balance overview also shows an amount that is ‘Pending’: in other words, the amount will be processed shortly, but turnovers and costs are already included in your Accounting report by date.
